Consul General of Viet Nam in Khon Kaen Dinh Hoang Linh met with representatives of Khon Kaen University to discuss plans for establishing a Viet Nam Studies Center, aimed at promoting educational cooperation and cultural exchange between Viet Nnam and Thailand

At the meeting, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh said the establishment of the center would help promote the Vietnamese language and culture among students and the international academic community. Several domestic educational institutions and publishing houses have also expressed readiness to provide academic support, teaching materials, and cooperation in related activities.

Under the proposed plan, the Viet Nam Studies Center would serve not only as a venue for Vietnamese language instruction but also as a hub for cultural exchange, academic research, and community engagement. Planned activities include Vietnamese language training, Viet Nam studies research, joint training programs, faculty and student exchanges, and cultural exchange events.

Both sides also agreed to step up information sharing, strengthen connectivity, and encourage greater participation from the Vietnamese community in the area, thereby helping promote national cultural and linguistic values in the region.

The establishment of a Viet Nam Studies Center at Khon Kaen University is seen as a practical activity to mark the 50th anniversary of Viet Nam–Thailand diplomatic relations (1976–2026), while opening up broader opportunities for cooperation in education and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
