Introduction to the Journal of Agriculture and Environment
The Journal of Agriculture and Environment was established under Decision No. 212/QĐ-BNNMT dated March 1, 2025, by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, based on the merger of the Journal of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Journal of Natural Resources and Environment.
The Journal is a public service unit under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, operating in accordance with the Law on Press, the Law on Publishing, and relevant legal regulations. It functions as a channel for information and communication on scientific–technological research, theory, and professional practices; disseminates the guidelines of the Party and policies of the State related to agriculture, rural areas, natural resources, and the environment; and serves as a scientific forum for technology, practical experience, theoretical exchange, and professional discussion in support of the Ministry’s state management activities.
On April 25, 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued License No. 23/GP-BVHTTDL for the operation of the printed and electronic editions of the Journal of Agriculture and Environment, the scientific and theoretical agency of the Ministry.
The Journal publishes eight editions, including:
Printed editions: Two scientific and technological issues (1 point), one theoretical issue (0.5 points), one English issue, one OCOP issue, and one Agricultural Tourism issue.

Scientific Edition: Published twice a month on the 10th and 25th, featuring strategies, achievements, and scientific–technological advances in agriculture and the environment. Its peer-review and publication processes are conducted rigorously and transparently, ensuring quality and credibility. It is recognized by the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED) as a prestigious national journal (in Chemistry and Agricultural Biology) and is rated 0.25–1 point by nine sectoral and interdisciplinary professor councils.
Theoretical Edition Published monthly on the last day of the month. It covers research, professional discussions, and theoretical–practical issues regarding innovation in the management of the agriculture and environment sectors. It disseminates Party and State policies and provides information on activities of the Ministry, acting as a forum for theoretical and professional exchange. It is rated 0.25–0.5 points by two professor councils.
OCOP Edition: Features analyses, discussions, and insights on the “One Commune, One Product” (OCOP) Program and products contributing to rural economic development and local potential.
Agricultural Tourism Edition: Provides in-depth information and analysis on agricultural and ecological tourism based on agricultural production advantages and local cultural–ecological characteristics.
Online Journal: The online edition publishes daily scientific, theoretical, and professional information related to state management in agriculture, rural development, natural resources, and the environment. It serves as a forum for scientific discussion, policy analysis, and legal matters in the field.
English-language Online Edition: Provides information on activities of the Party, Government, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and other ministries and localities related to agriculture, rural areas, natural resources, and the environment. It also introduces policies, legal documents, scientific works, and research publications in the sector.
Online Scientific Journal: Publishes scientific articles and research findings serving scientific management, technology development, and innovation in agriculture, rural areas, and natural resources and environment.
The Journal of Agriculture and Environment inherits the legacy of several previous journals: Agriculture and Food Industry (Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper), Agricultural Economics (Institute of Agricultural Economics), Hydraulics (Institute of Water Resources Science), Forestry (Vietnam Academy of Forestry Sciences), Fisheries (Ministry of Fisheries), Agriculture and Rural Development (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), Land Administration, and Natural Resources and Environment (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment).
With a mission to connect scientific knowledge and practical application, the Journal provides in-depth, updated, and diverse content on high-tech agriculture, natural resources, environment, climate change, food safety, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
In the context of a sector transitioning toward sustainability, modernization, and climate adaptation, scientific and technological information plays a vital role for farmers, scientists, businesses, and policymakers.
The Journal’s publications continue to expand in content depth and format diversity, offering comprehensive insights into the activities of the Ministry, sectors, and localities related to agriculture, rural development, natural resources, and the environment, contributing to national development and sustainability.
