On February 2, 2026, the Agriculture and Environment Magazine, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in coordination with partner organizations and businesses, held the “Warm spring for students” program at Van Thang Lower Secondary School in Nong Cong commune, Thanh Hoa province, where gifts were presented to students ahead of the Lunar New Year.
Held in the days leading up to the 2026 Lunar New Year (Year of the horse), the program was part of the magazine’s annual social welfare activities. It reflected the magazine’s cooperation with businesses and donors to support disadvantaged students, with the aim of helping bring a warmer and more meaningful spring to children in difficult circumstances.
Participants included Dr. Dao Xuan Hung, Editor-in-Chief of Agriculture and Environment Magazine; Mr. Pham Xuan Tu, Secretary of the magazine’s Youth Union; Mr. Le Ngoc Nam, Principal of Van Thang Lower Secondary School; Ms. Pham Thi Huong, Director of Nhat Lieu Y Vien Health Care Center No. 99 Hai Phong; along with teachers and students of the school.
Speaking at the event, Principal Le Ngoc Nam expressed his appreciation to the Agriculture and Environment Magazine, the organizing committee, and sponsoring businesses for their support and attention to the school’s students and staff. He noted that many students at the school come from disadvantaged families and face material hardships, but continue to show determination and effort in their studies and personal development.
He said the gifts provided practical material assistance as well as significant encouragement, helping students strengthen their confidence and motivation to continue striving. The support also served as encouragement for the teaching staff as they work to improve education quality. According to Le Ngoc Nam, the continued support from agencies, organizations, and businesses is an important source of motivation for the school to overcome difficulties and fulfill its academic tasks.
Representing the organizing committee, s. Pham Thi Huong said the “Warm spring for students” program has been held for many years by Agriculture and Environment Magazine with the aim of bringing warmth, joy, and motivation to students in underserved areas. She said the gifts were modest in material value but represented the collective goodwill and shared efforts of the organizers and partners.
Through the program, the organizers sought to encourage a spirit of learning, foster determination, and promote positive study motivation within the school. Ms. Pham Thi Huong expressed hope that the support would help ease difficulties for students and their families during the Lunar New Year, enabling better learning conditions and allowing students to pursue their future aspirations. She added that Nhat Lieu Y Vien Health Care Center would continue to accompany social, educational, and community health initiatives in the future.
At the event, the organizers awarded 50 scholarships worth a total of 50 million VND to disadvantaged students who achieved good academic and conduct results. In addition, 50 warm blankets sponsored by Hoang Hai Forever Trading Joint Stock Company were presented to students to help them cope with the winter cold. The program also donated two television sets worth more than 15 million VND and 10 million VND in cash to the school to support and supplement teaching and learning facilities. The gifts were presented in a warm and friendly atmosphere, marked by smiles from teachers and students.
Sharing further on the program’s significance, Editor-in-Chief Dr. Dao Xuan Hung said “Warm spring for students” is an annual initiative organized by the magazine during the Lunar New Year period. The program targets schools with limited facilities, particularly in rural, mountainous, and remote areas. Through scholarships, gifts, and educational equipment, it aims to encourage disadvantaged students who demonstrate determination and resilience in their studies.
Dr. Dao Xuan Hung said that alongside its role in providing information on agriculture and environment, the magazine places emphasis on social responsibility by mobilizing resources to promote compassion and solidarity. He expressed hope that today’s students would receive continued support to grow into responsible citizens contributing to sustainable national development.
According to the plan, the “Warm spring for students” program will continue on February 5–6 at several disadvantaged schools in Lai Chau province. The series of activities aims not only to provide immediate material assistance but also to convey a broader message of social responsibility toward education and future generations.
