On December 12, Agriculture and Environment Magazine held a working session with Ho Thau commune, Tuyen Quang province, to discuss communication efforts for OCOP products, the development of agricultural tourism, and the building and promotion of the Ho Thau Shan Tuyet tea brand. The commune is home to nearly 1,600 hectares of ancient tea trees, located at elevations exceeding 1,700 meters above sea level.

Participants in the working session included Ms. Hoang Thi Hanh, former Vice Minister and Vice Chairwoman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs; Dr. Dao Xuan Hung, Editor-in-Chief of Agriculture and Environment Magazine; journalist Le Quang Huy, Head of the Economic Desk of the Magazine; Mr. Ly Choi Nhan, Secretary of the Commune Party Committee and Chairman of the Commune People’s Council; Ms. Hoang Thi Hanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Commune Party Committee; Mr. Hoang Xuan Hoa, Deputy Secretary of the Commune Party Committee and Chairman of the Commune People’s Committee; Vice Chairmen of the Commune People’s Committee Mr. Phuong Chan Nu and Mr. Giang Van Thang; together with leaders of specialized divisions, representatives of enterprises and cooperatives, tea producers, and members of the press.
The working session reflected Ho Thau Commune’s strong determination to build a flagship agricultural product brand while concurrently promoting agricultural tourism as a driver of local development.
Mr. Ly Choi Nhan, Secretary of the Commune Party Committee and Chairman of the Commune People’s Council, noted that unlocking the value of ancient Shan Tuyet tea trees and linking tea products with experiential tourism requires close cooperation with the press and media to gradually awaken the area’s long-overlooked potential.
Dr. Dao Xuan Hung, Editor-in-Chief of Agriculture and Environment Magazine, expressed the Magazine’s commitment to accompanying Ho Thau Commune in harnessing its comparative advantages and strengthening communication efforts to build the brand of its key agricultural products, notably Ho Thau Shan Tuyet tea cultivated across nearly 1,600 hectares.
The proposals and recommendations put forward by Ho Thau Commune, together with the commitment of long-term cooperation from Agriculture and Environment Magazine, are expected to create new momentum for unlocking local potential and promoting socio-economic development. This collaboration will also serve as a foundation for continued joint activities in the coming period, with the goal of improving livelihoods and positioning Ho Thau as a notable destination for agricultural tourism.
