International cooperation plays a crucial role in addressing the challenges of climate change and water resource management in the Mekong River Basin. This message was emphasized by Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Do Duc Duy, during his meeting with Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, CEO of the Mekong River Commission (MRC) Secretariat, on March 20.

Vietnam and Ireland are working to facilitate mutual market access for their agricultural products, particularly fruits, as part of broader efforts to enhance bilateral trade in the sector. This commitment was reaffirmed during a meeting between Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Hoang Trung, and Ireland’s Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and the Marine, Noel Grealish, on March 13.

On March 12, Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy held talks with Mr. Tsutomu Takebe, a member of the Board of Trustees of Vietnam - Japan University and former Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries of Japan. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in developing high-quality human resources for Vietnam’s agricultural sector, with Japan serving as a key partner in training, technology transfer, and business management in agriculture.

During a bilateral meeting on March 10, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien and Indonesia’s Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, reaffirmed their commitment to fostering collaboration in sustainable aquaculture and legal fisheries exploitation. The meeting, held as part of Party General Secretary To Lam’s state visit to Indonesia, underscored the long-standing ties between the two nations, which celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations in 2025.

On March 10, The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MoAE), in collaboration with the German International Cooperation (GIZ), hosted the closing conference for the "Green Innovation Centers" (GIC) Project in Can Tho. The conference marked the successful implementation of the project, highlighting innovative solutions that have contributed to Vietnam's sustainable agricultural transformation.

On March 5, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Le Cong Thanh met with Kim Young Ki, Acting President of the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI), to advance the implementation of a project aimed at establishing a resource recycling industrial park in Vietnam.

Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy has officially appointed Dr. Dao Xuan Hung as Editor-in-Chief of the Agriculture and Environment Magazine.

On February 20, in Hanoi, Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy met with Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam Johan Ndisi for a courtesy meeting. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in green development and the circular economy, to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

On January 13, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Do Duc Duy held a working meeting with leaders of Japan’s Erex Corporation to discuss strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the implementation of the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM), and issues related to carbon credit exchange between the two countries. This meeting marked a significant step in promoting renewable energy development and achieving emissions reduction targets for both Vietnam and Japan.

On January 9, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Do Duc Duy held a working session with Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Jaya Ratnam and diplomats from the Singaporean Embassy. At the 2024 annual summary and 2025 mission planning conference held on December 21, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment announced the sector's top events of 2024.

On December 19, 2024, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), Minister Do Duc Duy held a meeting with Mr. Andrew Goledzinowski, the Australian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam. During the meeting, Minister Do Duc Duy presented the Medal for the Cause of Natural Resources and Environment to Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski in recognition of his significant contributions to fostering bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of natural resources and environmental protection.

As part of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s official visit to Japan, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Do Duc Duy met with Mr. Hatoyama Jiro, State Minister of the Cabinet Office for Ocean Policy of Japan, to discuss the development of resource management and marine environmental protection programs for Vietnam.
