Standing Deputy Minister Trinh Viet Hung appointed Minister of Agriculture and Environment

logo National Assembly on April 8 approved the appointment of  Standing Deputy Minister Trinh Viet Hung as Minister of Agriculture and Environment for the 2026–2031 term, with all deputies present voting in favor.

The decision was adopted during the first session of the 16th National Assembly, where 481 out of 481 deputies backed a resolution approving the Prime Minister’s nominations for ministers and other members of the Government for the new tenure.

Under the resolution, member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment for the 2021–2026 term Trinh Viet Hung was confirmed as minister for the upcoming term.

The newly appointed minister, Trinh Viet Hung, was born on October 1, 1977, and is from Ninh Giang commune in Hai Phong. He holds an advanced degree in political theory and a PhD in Business Administration, along with a master’s degree in Agricultural Economics. He also earned bachelor’s degrees in Land Management and Agricultural Economics.

The National Assembly also approved the appointment of deputy prime ministers, ministers and other members of the Government for the 2026–2031 term, as part of a broader personnel package submitted by the Prime Minister.
