On the evening of January 1, 2026, Dragon Tea Suoi Giang, located in Van Chan conmmune, Lao Cai province, hosted a cultural and artistic program entitled “Welcoming spring 2026 – The sacred dragon gathering in unity.” The event brought together central and local leaders, cultural figures, local residents, and visitors to celebrate the New Year in the distinctive cultural space of Viet Nam’s Northwest region.
Attending the program were central-level delegates, including Ms. Hoang Thi Hanh, former Deputy Minister and former Vice Chairwoman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs; former Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization of Yen Bai province; and former Vice Chairwoman of the Yên Bái Provincial People’s Committee; Dr. Dao Xuan Hung, Editor-in-Chief of the Agriculture and Environment Magazine (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment).
Also present were Mr. Phan Huy Ngọc, Deputy Secretary of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Tuyen Quang Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Pham Manh Duyet, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tuyen Quang Province; leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Office of the Tuyen Quang Provincial People’s Committee; along with leaders of Ho Thau commune, Tuyen Quang province…
The event also welcomed Dr. Dinh Tan Hung, Director of the Institute for Space and Underwater Technology Research, Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Mr. Pham Van Cong, Member of the Inspection Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee; historian Duong Trung Quoc; Dr. The Hung, an artist, and other distinguished guests.
Representing local delegates were Mr. Nong Viet Yen, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang Province; Mr. Pham Huu Luc, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Van Chan commune; together with numerous residents and visitors from Suoi Giang Hamlet.
Sharing at the event, Dr. Nguyen Cong Han, Chairman of HYH Group, highlighted that Dragon Tea Suoi Giang has been developed as a cultural space for the people of Suối Giàng and visitors from across the country to gather and experience the values of ancient tea trees that are thousands of years old—an area widely regarded as the “capital” of Shan Tuyet tea in Lao Cai province.
Despite the cold weather, a large number of tourists and local residents gathered at the Dragon Tea Suoi Giang venue to welcome the New Year 2026.
The New Year 2026 art program was held on a grand scale, featuring spring-themed performances, New Year celebrations, and traditional art performances that reflect the unique cultural characteristics of ethnic communities in Suoi Giang hamlet.
Each segment carried its own distinctive color, harmoniously blending the rich cultural identity of the Northwest region with youthful and modern elements, attracting the attention of thousands of local residents and visitors from various provinces and cities.
