The 4 coastal provinces in north-central Vietnam will receive enhanced capacity and technical support to increase climate resilience through a €156 million project funded by the Vietnamese Government, the European Union (EU), and the French Development Agency (AFD).

On March 28th, in Ho Chi Minh city, a workshop titled 'Toward Net-Zero: Vietnam - Canada experience sharing' was hosted by the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE). Among the attendees were Canadian Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade, and Economic Development Mary Ng, and Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Le Cong Thanh, along with representatives from various government departments, local authorities, research institutions, and trade organizations from both countries.

On March 21, in Hanoi, a consultation workshop was held by the Vietnam Institute of Environmental, Marine, and Island Sciences (VEMSI) to discuss the draft technical guidelines for environmental self-auditing implementation of production, business and service establishments.

Oil spills at sea can have serious economic consequences for coastal activities and those who exploit marine resources. Therefore, there is a need for guidelines on monitoring, risk assessment, and oil spill remediation for relevant authorities to implement.

This was the guidance provided by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha at the VCSF 2023 Forum on August 23, with the theme "Global Green Race: From Strategy to Sustainable Business Practices."

On the morning of June 9, 2023 in Hanoi, Journal of Natural Resources and Environment organized the 2023 Environmental Forum with the theme "Solutions to treat domestic solid waste into resources". Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tho - Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment; Dr. Dao Xuan Hung - Chief Editor of Journal of Natural Resources and Environment; Mr. Dang Dinh Tung - Deputy Director of Department of Technology Appraisal, Examination and Assessment ( Ministry of Science and Technology) chaired the forum.

COP28, the upcoming conference, is set to conclude international efforts in supporting developing countries and emerging economies in their green transformation.

On September 11th, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Vo Tuan Nhan, chaired a meeting to discuss the development of a draft National Action Plan for Circular Economy (CE) implementation until 2035.

As reported in the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15), natural ecosystems are in danger with one million species threatened with extinction, 75% of the Earth's surface has been significantly altered and 85% of wetlands have disappeared, with huge consequences for regions and communities around the world, including the earth's resilience to climate change. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has also called for greater global cooperation in biodiversity conservation efforts around the world.
