Official launch of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Agriculture and Environment

On December 23, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Agriculture and Environment Magazine held a ceremony to announce the Decision on the establishment and to officially launch the Editorial Board of the Agriculture and Environment Journal—the peer-reviewed scientific publication within its system. The event was chaired by Mr. Phung Duc Tien, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Le, Deputy Director of the Department of Personnel and Organization, announced the Decision on the establishment of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Agriculture and Environment.

Pursuant to Decision No. 5306/QD-BNNMT dated December 16, 2025, Dr. Phung Duc Tien, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment, was appointed Chair of the Editorial Board; Dr. Dao Xuan Hung, Editor-in-Chief of the Agriculture and Environment Magazne, was appointed Vice Chair and Secretary General of the Editorial Board, together with 36 members who are scientists and managers with extensive expertise and experience.

Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien noted that the Editorial Board brings together a large number of highly qualified scientists, contributing to enhancing the quality of the Journal

Dr. Dao Xuan Hung, Editor-in-Chief of the Agriculture and Environment Magazine, affirmed that the establishment of the Editorial Board demonstrates a strong commitment to improving content quality, scientific rigor, and the peer-review capacity of the Journal

The ceremony recorded numerous constructive contributions from delegates, aiming to further enhance the quality of the Journal of Agriculture and Environment in the new development phase.

Associate Professor, PhD Bui Ba Bong, Chairman of the Vietnam Rice Industry Association, congratulated the launch of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Agriculture and Environment. He proposed strengthening academic specialization and promoting the internationalization of the scientific journal

Mr. Nguyen Van Long, Director General of the Department of Science and Technology, highly appreciated the outstanding and exemplary achievements of the Journal of Agriculture and Environment. Over the past year, the Journal has closely coordinated with the Department of Science and Technology to disseminate scientific and technological outcomes of the sector

To ensure sustainable development and affirm the Journal’s position, Associate Professor, PhD Pham Thi Thanh Nga emphasized the need for a clear orientation, the development of in-depth thematic issues, and a focus on major and topical issues of the sector. She also proposed that the Journal gradually move toward English-language publication to expand access to the international scientific community and enhance its reputation and outreach.

Dr. Tran Cong Thang, Director of the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Agriculture and Environment, assessed that the content of the Journal of Agriculture and Environment has become increasingly rich and diverse, comprehensively reflecting key issues of the sector.

Professor, PhD Tran Dinh Hoa, Director of the Vietnam Academy for Water Resources, proposed strengthening coordination and linkages with specialized journals under the Ministry to effectively disseminate scientific and technological knowledge of the sector, gradually forming a unified scientific network and promoting collective strength

Professor, PhD Tran Van Chu, Chairman of the Vietnam–Finland Friendship Association, stated that scientific journals should further promote development on digital platforms

According to Associate Professor, PhD Nguyen Van Dan, Vietnam Association of Hydrogeology, in the coming period, the Journal should be more closely linked with science and technology research projects, creating favorable conditions for research results to be published directly in the Journal of Agriculture and Environment

Professor, PhD Tran Dang Hoa, Chairman of the University Council of Hue University, proposed solutions to improve the quality of the Journal

Professor, PhD Vo Chi My, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Geodesy, Cartography and Remote Sensing, emphasized the need to strengthen the peer-review role of the Editorial Board to enhance the Journal’s quality
