Promoting the cultural heritage of ancient “Shan Tuyet” Suoi Giang green tea
24/09/2025TN&MTOn September 23 in Hanoi, the Agriculture and Environment Magazine held a working session with Dragon Tea Suoi Giang Joint Stock Company. At the meeting, the two sides signed a media cooperation agreement to promote the cultural and brand value of ancient “Shan Tuyet” Suoi Giang green tea, regarded as the “green treasure” of Vietnam’s Northwest.
The session was attended by Dr. Dao Xuan Hung, Editor-in-Chief of the Agriculture and Environment Magazine; Dr. Nguyen Cong Han, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dragon Tea Suoi Giang JSC; Mr. Nguyen Van Thu, Director of Kim Hoang Anh Interior Architecture JSC; along with leaders of editorial departments, reporters, and editors of the Magazine, and company representatives.
Speaking at the event, Editor-in-Chief Dao Xuan Hung highlighted that the Agriculture and Environment Magazine is a specialized scientific and policy forum under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. It serves as an important channel for positioning Vietnamese agricultural brands and highlighting the value of agricultural and environmental products. Throughout its development, the Magazine has worked closely with businesses, providing scientific information, policy analysis, and community-oriented reporting to support sustainable growth in the new era.
Dr. Nguyen Cong Han explained that the unique natural conditions of Suoi Giang—year-round mist and mineral-rich soil—enable Shan Tuyet green tea to develop high nutritional content. The buds contain valuable compounds such as catechins, tannins, L-theanine, and strong antioxidants. Medical studies have shown that ancient “Shan Tuyet” Suoi Giang Green Tea can help prevent disease, support weight management, improve metabolism, rejuvenate skin, and slow the aging process.
Editor-in-Chief Dao Xuan Hung also underlined the role of journalism in promoting enterprises with strong reputations, innovative practices, and achievements in science, technology, and digital transformation—particularly those contributing to green and circular agriculture and helping to raise the profile of Vietnamese farm products at home and abroad.
According to Dr. Nguyen Cong Han, Shan Tuyet green tea contains very high levels of natural antioxidants and essential minerals that benefit the immune, digestive, and circulatory systems, while also offering cancer-preventive properties. “Shan Tuyet is not just a beverage,” he said. “It can be considered a natural ‘phyto-antibiotic’ that helps detoxify the body, prevent illness, and enhance overall health.”
Editor-in-Chief Dao Xuan Hung emphasized that this cooperation between the Magazine and Dragon Tea Suoi Giang supports the implementation of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on developing the private sector as a key driver of the national economy. As a private enterprise, Dragon Tea Suoi Giang has been pioneering the application of modern science and technology in its operations. By combining advanced tea processing techniques with local cultural traditions, the company has created products that are competitive both domestically and internationally. The partnership also aligns with the Ministry’s policy of promoting high-value agricultural brands.
Dr. Nguyen Cong Han stressed that the Agriculture and Environment Magazine has a professional team of journalists and editors who provide in-depth reporting and share positive stories in agriculture and the environment with the public. The Magazine not only offers updated knowledge and farming techniques but also serves as an information bridge, encouraging innovation and creativity toward greener agriculture and a sustainable environment. He expressed hope that the partnership would expand the reach of Suoi Giang green tea in both domestic and international markets, while bringing tangible benefits to local communities, preserving cultural heritage, and contributing to Vietnam’s socio-economic development.
Drawing on his years of medical practice and research in Suoi Giang, Dr. Han observed that chronic illnesses among local residents are virtually absent. One common factor, he noted, is that people in the area have long had the habit of drinking Shan Tuyet tea daily, often from an early age.
Editor-in-Chief Hưng reiterated the promise of this cooperation in strengthening the Shan Tuyet tea brand, with Dragon Tea Suoi Giang playing a central role. He said the initiative reflects the Magazine’s proactive approach to brand communication for products of cultural and community value—linking sustainable development with environmental protection and the preservation of local traditions. Following the signing, the Magazine will launch comprehensive communication activities, including research-based features in Suoi Giang and broader coverage across its publications to reach readers at home and abroad.
“Dragon Suoi Giang tea, produced from centuries-old Shan Tuyet trees, represents the distinctive agricultural heritage of Vietnam,” Editor-in-Chief Dao Xuan Hung remarked. “With improved product quality, a strong branding strategy, and effective communication, Suoi Giang tea has the potential to become a national flagship product and a symbol of Vietnamese tea culture.”
At the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Thu, Director of Kim Hoang Anh Interior Architecture JSC, presented flowers to congratulate the partnership between the Agriculture and Environment Magazine and Dragon Tea Suối Giàng JSC.
